Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My co-founder Lindsay and I started Way of Being because we saw that everyone cares about the environment and wants to live in alignment with their other values, but weren't sure how to make a difference. We were sick of waiting around for someone else to solve these problems and wanted to make it easier for individuals to make small, everyday actions that add up to meaningful impact. I'm inspired by intentional individuals (like our customers) who use whatever power they have for good.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by fueling myself with inspiration. I'm inspired by filmmakers, musicians, and artists who stay true to themselves and make the world better with their unique points of view. I'm inspired by stories of real people with vision who dare to go out on a limb and push through even when things look impossible. I feed myself movies, books, and podcasts that remind me that we all have that within us. And then I focus on what I can control and contribute.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Invest in cash reserves to weather the inevitable storms that come with business, as well as elevated marketing campaigns to generate growth. We've seen the impact of investing in marketing over the years, and $25,000 would allow us to invest in that support year-round, grow our audience, and amplify our impact.
