Seven years ago, doctors told me my womb was a war zone. They said I’d never carry a child and should consider adoption. The finality in their voices was crushing. But then—Ava happened. How do you stay motivated?

My motivation is deeply personal—but also bigger than me. When I was seven, my father was murdered, and my mother struggled to keep a stable job. I made a promise that one day, I would provide her with security and stability. I’ve kept that promise. But I realized that my success means nothing if I don’t lift others up, too. What would you do with the $25,000?

Winning this grant would allow me to do so much, not just for my business, but for the people it supports. With these funds, I will: Eliminate business debt, allowing me to reinvest in growth and hire more employees. Upgrade furniture and software for my staging company, improving the quality of service we provide. Professionally wrap our bright yellow truck, increasing visibility to bring in more business and create more jobs.
