Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My first inspiration is my family. Growing up, my siblings and I faced disadvantaged circumstances, constantly reminded by others that we’d remain stuck in that box. Those very voices fueled my determination to prove them wrong. My second inspiration is my adopted daughter, whose resilience drives me to create a legacy. Lastly, my clients inspire me. Through their challenges, I’m motivated to innovate holistic solutions that support their hair and self-care journeys.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by focusing on my purpose: breaking barriers, creating solutions, & inspiring others. My daughter’s resilience, faith, my family’s journey, & my clients’ trust fuel my drive. I set clear goals, celebrate small wins, and stay grounded by reflecting on how far I’ve come. Every challenge is my opportunity to grow, & knowing I’m building a legacy for my daughter keeps me pushing forward, no matter the obstacles

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I win $25,000 I will invest it in launching AquaFro, my swim haircare line specifically designed for Black swimmers. The funds will cover production, marketing & distribution, enabling me to bring this innovative product to market. AquaFro is about more than haircare, it’s about empowering black swimmers to protect their hair while enjoying the water with confidence. This launch represents a major step in breaking barriers & celebrating natural beauty in the swimming community.
