Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

The women in my family have been the inspiration behind The Kitchen, our small restaurant. From our great grandmother whom passed us down her “great depression” handwritten recipes, to our grandmother whom worked everyday teaching us the value of hard work, and our mother; whom kept old traditions in the kitchen alive in our home. How do you stay motivated?

Our family business continues to stay motivated because the reward of serving our community has been beneficial to our friends, family, and members of our small town. We donate food weekly to our local nonprofit feeding the unhoused. We strive to be a positive impact to our town for years to come. Our small business have allowed us to donate, host networking events for women, host our town firefighters, and establish a full service restaurant serving affordable food and good hospitality.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Our small business could use $25,000 to invest in another refrigeration unit, a dishwasher, and equipment that we will need for our increase of business we have experienced. We would also have our equipment cleaned by a professional restaurant company to give our employees a night off of cleaning the cooking equipment, and bring our kitchen back to its original shine. We would be able to continue to improve, and bring more to the community such as dinner, as we only serve breakfast/lunch.
