Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration in business comes from my grandmother, a dedicated beautician whose salon felt like home. Witnessing her passion ignited my entrepreneurial spirit. Today, my children also inspire me; I aim to build a business that allows me the freedom to attend their games and share lunch, avoiding a rigid schedule. I want to be present for them, just as my grandmother was for me. This balance between family and career fuels my motivation and shapes my journey as a business owner.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by keeping God at the center of my life with daily affirmations and devotions. Exercising three to five times a week boosts my energy and clarity. Pursuing hobbies, traveling, and spending time with loved ones enrich my spirit. I invest in growth by attending conventions and trade shows. Self-care is essential; I take time to recharge. Utilizing life coaches and free online webinars helps me grow as a businesswoman, enabling me to empower others on their journeys as well.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded the $25,000 grant, I would focus on remodeling our salon to enhance both its aesthetic appeal and functionality. Our current equipment dates back to 2006, and it has become increasingly outdated. This not only affects the look of our salon but also impacts the efficiency with which our employees can serve our clients. By upgrading our equipment, we can create a more inviting atmosphere for customers, which is essential for attracting and retaining clientele in a competitive market.
