Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration in business comes from the resilience and creativity of Black women who have paved the way in industries where we are underrepresented, like photography. As a low-income, first-generation immigrant and Black woman, I’m driven to embrace and celebrate Black joy through my lens. In a world where Black stories are often defined by struggle, my mission is to uplift and give back to my community by capturing moments of beauty, strength, and joy that reflect our true essence.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated through God’s strength, knowing that His guidance empowers me to overcome any challenge. Watching my single mother of four raise us with little to nothing but unwavering faith and prayer inspires me daily. Her resilience and trust in God remind me that with faith, hard work, and perseverance, anything is possible. I am driven to honor her sacrifices and continue pushing forward, knowing that God’s plan is greater than any obstacle I face.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to invest in a new camera and secure a studio space for my photography business. I've been using the same camera since I was 14 and, at 21, I haven't had the means to upgrade my equipment or afford studio rentals. This funding would significantly enhance the quality of my work, expand my creative opportunities, and allow me to grow my business, providing a dedicated space to better serve my clients and bring my artistic vision to life.
