Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My greatest inspiration comes from my younger self and the youths I encounter while patrolling the streets of Chicago. Reflecting on my own journey, I realize the struggles I faced and the guidance I desperately needed haven’t changed. So, I made it my mission to become the person I needed growing up—the mentor, protector, and advocate I longed for. Today, I strive to be that same beacon of hope and strength for the youths who need it most, ensuring they see a brighter path forward.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by staying focused on what the youths and the community need. Many don’t have a solid support system or a positive role model, and they look to me and my organization to make them feel loved, heard, and supported. Seeing their smiles and knowing I’m making a difference keeps me driven. What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I’d expand programs that empower Chicago’s youths, focusing on leadership workshops, mentorships, and community events to strengthen relationships between officers and young people. Funds would support career readiness training, mental health resources, and creative outlets like writing or arts programs. The goal is to provide the tools and support systems youths need to feel loved, heard, and inspired, ensuring they see their potential as future leaders.
