Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My journey as a pregnant high school national honors society student who navigated through career and college as a single parent with little resources and knowledge to attain a living wage, escape poverty, and change the narrative for myself and my children.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by continuing to work as a classroom teacher in diverse and low income communities. My daily work helps me understand what relevant and critical skills and learning experiences students and families need to gain during high school to be prepared for success in college and career after high school. It also helps me identify areas of improvement school leaders and administrators need to effectively ensure that all students have a successful transition in life after high school.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to provide free college and career exploration options like dual enrollment course options, workforce certification classes, SAT prep, ELA workshops, and STEM enrichment events, and college tours.
