Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I’m inspired by the generations of small business owners in my community who built sustainable businesses in the Caribbean, US, and elsewhere, all in service of making the world a better place. They navigated complex sociopolitical dynamics, educated themselves, and risked everything not for themselves but for others. Their resilience, creativity, and commitment to service fuel my passion for creating impactful, inclusive ventures today.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by focusing on the “why” behind my work — the opportunity to create meaningful change and leave a legacy that uplifts others. I remind myself daily that the work I do isn’t just about me; it’s about honoring those who paved the way before me and building something that serves future generations. When challenges arise, I see them as part of the journey, pushing me to grow, learn, and ultimately make my desired impact.

What would you do with the $25,000?

We’d expand our pro bono career support for those laid off or economically disadvantaged, offering coaching, workshops, and digital resources to empower career transitions. Additionally, we’d relaunch "Compass Talks," investing in production, marketing, and guest speakers to inspire and guide viewers through real stories of navigating life’s pivotal decisions. This funding would allow us to help more people rebuild and thrive while sparking impactful conversation.
