Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration in business stems from a profound journey of resilience and compassion. After leaving the Biden-Harris Administration and struggling to find a role despite my education and experience, I vowed to create opportunities where none existed. Witnessing the plight of refugees and indigenous people in South America, especially young girls forced into unimaginable situations, shattered my soul. I founded Mi Café to empower Latin America, combat poverty, and inspire my children.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by the lives I aim to impact. A big believer in service to others, I cannot accept failure; it is not in my nature as a former U.S. Marine. I believe in the mission at hand and know I can make meaningful change through coffee, creating opportunities for economic empowerment across Latin America. This work inspires me to do more, and I strive to set an example for my children—showing them that with perseverance, purpose, and action, we can build a better future for others.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would focus on expanding Mi Café’s e-commerce presence and reaching new Latin American markets. The funds would be used to develop targeted marketing campaigns and localize our digital platforms for regional audiences, ensuring our story resonates across borders. By leveraging e-commerce growth and entering new countries, we can amplify our mission, increase sales, and create sustainable economic opportunities for more communities throughout Latin America.
