Who or what is your inspiration in business?

The challenges faced by my African ancestors and my own personal struggles in the dismissive Corporate and Arts environments that I've experienced fuel my mission. The impact of The Great Migration in Arizona has had little acknowledgement; with African American residents locked into an indiscernible status. Systemic racism is frequently rationalized by the dismissive tone that emphasizes the small demographic percentage of Blacks that live (or stay) in the state compared to Whites and others.

How do you stay motivated?

My son is my greatest supporter and inspiration. He calls me "Hummingbird" because I'm always busy. The prospect of artistic growth and an extensive presence often withers on the vine, frequently leading to frustration, depression and an overall poor quality of life for Blacks in Phoenix. Despite popular verbosity, Blacks in Phoenix have no representation or opportunities.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The scope of my multidisciplinary projects requires a sustainable infrastructure. I would launch The Four Corners Business Plan to effectuate income, employment and engagement through printing services, screened designer pillows, arts merchandising and custom framing and matting.
