Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My business is deeply inspired by my father's legacy. He started from humble beginnings, building and owning a laundromat in a poverty-stricken area on the east side of Detroit, catering to those with limited resources. When I launched Mobile Laundry Detroit during the COVID-19 pandemic, my goal was to support clients who faced similar challenges. I aimed to provide assistance to those who had limited access to laundry services and needed a helping hand during such chaotic times.

How do you stay motivated?

I find motivation in my faith, especially during challenging times. I remind myself that this vision was placed on my heart by God, meant for my community and my family. Whenever I feel my momentum slipping, I revisit the reasons I started this journey, which reignites my motivation to keep going.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I plan to use these funds to acquire a cash-flowing laundromat or build my own in a supportive community. Inspired by my father's vision, I aim to create a clean, safe space that serves as both a laundry facility and a community hub, offering resources like Wi-Fi and various services. I'm also considering adding resource rooms for meetings and workshops to support those in need.
