Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My oldest grandson Nathan is my inspiration. He was diagnosed with Celiac disease when he was about 6 years old. We started baking gluten free cookies together so he’d have snacks for home & school & we did this for a few years. Then for holidays & birthdays I started baking gf cupcakes, my family loved them & suggested I start selling them. So, it took me about a year to perfect my recipe's & officially launched my business. My grandson is now 20, & still enjoys ba

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by having a purpose & being productive. By creating gluten free / vegan cupcakes for those with gluten & other dietary issues, I’m also filling a need in my community, & I enjoy making them happy. When I see there eyes light up with glee, it’s a huge motivator for me. Creating new flavors regularly & new items like cake pucks also keeps me going. The sky’s the limit!!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would love to have my own commercial space to bake in. Right now I’m a licensed cottage food baker, & I bake out of my home. My business is starting to outgrow the house. So, having my own space to bake in would be a blessing.
