Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My children are my who, what, and why! Because if them I am driven to go out there and keep trying even if I fail I know that they are watching so I get up and show up and try again because I want them to know what perseverance looks like.

How do you stay motivated?

I tell myself this, ‘every major corporation and top business started somewhere.’ It may not look like what I need it to, my vision and my reality may not be in sync, but I know that if I push myself a little further I can get where I see it in my vision! So knowing that keeps me motivated.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put it towards my cafe I’m starting up. I have not been able to obtain any grants or loans. It seems as though all the odds are against me with the start up, from failed inspections and racism thrown at me. But I refuse to allow it to deter me! I unfortunately depleted most of my funds to get it off the ground so if I was to get this aid I would use it to get the cafe where it needs to be. But nevertheless the show will go on! We are DIY-ing and getting it to be in the running to g
