Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I started my company in a business course at Boise State University in 2001. I was working with the BLM at the time, collecting seeds, germinating, installing, and maintaining native plants. I desired to create sustainable environments in yards around the Treasure Valley that were able to handle all of the rapidly changing weather we have in Idaho. The footprint that synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides have on our environment is a huge issue to me.

How do you stay motivated?

I have so many motivators! The first one is my crew and making sure they all have a secure source of income for their families, a job where they feel fulfilled, supported and cared for. The second is our beautiful State's resources. Creating native, low water gardens helps to unburden our water supply. Using the right plant in the right place helps to reduce the need for harmful chemicals. Lastly for my child. I want to show her how hard work and showing up daily creates a massive ripple effect.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to invest in my business. I believe the more I put into the company the better all of my clients and employees will do. I am currently looking into buying a new mini excavator and enclosed trailer.
