Who or what is your inspiration in business?

It is hard to narrow my inspiration in business to a single person or thing- it’s been a combination of everything I’ve learned from those around me. My worldview is very much reflected in my work. I do give my parents a lot of credit as they are both pretty business/financial savvy, but I’ve taken away a lot from school, jobs/internships, friends, and business acquaintances as well. At the end of the day I’m putting everything I can into Unjaded and I’m proud.

How do you stay motivated?

I know this is the path I am meant to persue and I know I can be successful, and that is what I tell myself when I’m tired or feeling lazy. As a designer in school and working another day job, I have to really prioritize my business and make time whenever I can. Setting deadlines and making creative commitments helps me continuously progress, since it forces me to stay productive, on top of my business and reach my goals.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would donate $1,000 to the Enviromental Defense Fund, invest $2,000 to be put back into my business and the amount left will go towards Unjaded. One of the pillars of Unjaded is concern for our ecological impact and how I can make positive change, so a donation to EDF feels right. Expanding my team and working with stockists are potential next steps. With more options for material sourcing as well, this would open new doors and help me share my vision with the world.
