With 17 years as a Black male art educator, I’ve empowered inner-city youth from pre-K to early college to overcome challenges in self-expression. By leveraging digital media and visual arts, I provide them with tools to share their stories authentically and explore entrepreneurial opportunities that inspire growth and creativity.
How do you stay motivated?Amid the constant flood of violence and negativity on TV and social media, I stay motivated by creating safe spaces where young people can explore and connect with the beauty, creativity, and potential the world has to offer.
What would you do with the $25,000?With the $25,000 grant, I will invest in essential equipment, software licensing, and materials to develop a dynamic creative program. This program will empower inner-city youth by providing them with the tools and skills needed to express themselves through digital and visual arts while exploring entrepreneurial opportunities that can shape their future.
