Who or what is your inspiration in business?

Our business is inspired by the folx that place their trust physically and emotionally in our hands. Many of our guests have felt excluded and unwelcome in salon and barbershops due to their appearance, hair texture, or identity. With our space we want to bring excitement back into getting your hair done, curating an environment that isn’t just about hair but about community building and connection.

How do you stay motivated?

Knowing that the work we do is more than just hair. Queer joy isn’t passive. It’s defiant. It’s a deep belly laugh in the face of hate. For every hateful voice, there are countless others who walk into our shop and find relief, hope, and belonging. Our guests remind us daily why we do what we do, and they inspire us to keep building—not just for them but for everyone who needs to know spaces like this can exist.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, we would create an inclusive and accessible environment by installing an ADA-compliant bathroom and push doors, ensuring all guests can comfortably access our space. We would restock inventory, eliminating the “purchase as needed” approach, so we can confidently provide uninterrupted services. Additionally, the funds would support saving for future shop expansion, helping us grow sustainably while continuing to meet the needs of our community and fostering long-term suc
