Who or what is your inspiration in business?

As someone from Africa, my inspiration comes from the unique power of community. That's why I blend business with purpose. Visionary leaders and innovators who use their platforms for good and meaningful change inspire me. Example is Tyler Perry and Virgil Abloh. Their vision has and continues to connect people and create community. They have also opened doors for many people like me.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by focussing on important goals that honor my purpose, my culture and my people. In my endeavors, I make sure that I stay strong, hopeful and positive because I want to be remembered as someone who contributed positively to the world. I also share my wins and lessons learnt with my friends and family. This reminds me that I have support and it keeps me going.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25000, I would invest in growing my clothing company and expand initiatives to support local communities in Africa through sustainable projects that we are already doing. We work with small artisans in Kenya and Ethiopia and this will provide us the opportunity to continue building our brand and community.
