Who or what is your inspiration in business?

When I wanted to invest in a startup I didn't know anyone starting one—so I thought if I started one, what could it be? I remembered working at the daycare & all the parents I saw cry, get mad, & even quite their jobs because they kept missing work due to their child being sick & being sent home from daycare. How did parents keep their jobs with the amount of work I saw them miss? There was no fast and affordable option for parents, so I created the solution: BetterCare Booking

How do you stay motivated?

We're solving a real need that is largely unaddressed. And when it is addressed the options are antiquated, ineffective, and not niche-specific to working parents in a last-minute bind for child care. This is a huge motivation. If I stop providing help to these parents in this way, who will? We are aware of no one else solving the problem of work absenteeism among parents with the specificity of process, detail, speed, and care that BetterCare Booking is.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Recruiting help would be my number one priority. Finding parents is not an issue, and finding help is not an issue, but finding help costs a lot of money. Second, it would go toward large & reoccurring business expenses such as insurance, to help free our funds for other things. And finally I’d use it for more time and work with my lawyer. I will also look into patenting some of our techniques and/or possibly developing an app.
