Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My aunt who died of breast cancer inspired me to start my business years later. I remember as a preteen I would do her nails because she wasn’t permitted to go to the nail salon per her doctors and radiologist because of the harms chemicals she would be exposed to at the salon. Therefore I would paint her nails and it would just uplift her mood tremendously and feel pretty. That in itself made me want to help other women/girls who were diagnosed with cancer feel just as beautiful.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated through my clients. They are already battling so much. I don’t think it’s fair to complain about what I’m going through so I put that energy into my nail art. If they can stay motivated, it’s no reason I can’t carry on that same attitude daily. Each of my clients store is motivation in itself to not complain and persevere.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would purchase 3 vending machines and put one in South Carolina, one in California, and one in Las Vegas, Nevada and hire a photographer/videographer to make more appealing social media post and captivate new audiences to want to purchase my nails. This money, mentorship, and magazine feature would help scale my small business and bring it more notable recognition to help more cancer survivors and the everyday individual.
