Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I watch my mentor Orie Walls take a three man operation and turn it into a small manufacturing operation . We became a clothing giant in the sixties. Making clothing for entertainers and ball players. In Harlem on 125 street, down from the Apollo theater. We guarded his store through two riot in the sixties to stay in business. My friend could not understand why I put my life on the line for him.

How do you stay motivated?

I teach young people the clothing business and help them get into the industry. Teaching how to be successful and independent in an industry that will take care of themselves for the rest of their lives. The clothing industry was the first skill set that God give man kind.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I have been working on a program to teach ex- offenders the clothing industry. When the garment industry was in New York in the sixties, over twenty percent of workers were ex-offenders giving them a second chance. I have been teaching them on my dime when I can. This would help me off set the expense.
