Who or what is your inspiration in business?

As a youngster I was inspired by my parents as they worked tirelessly in their business and careers and taught me the same. Seeing the Oprah’s and the Tyler Perry’s who went through tragedy as I did as a teen. Me molested by a neighbor, getting pregnant, shipped away to a girls home because my parents were the who’s who of the neighborhood and embarrassed then forced my child up 4 adoption. I’m so movtivated to show up to the office daily 4 women w/ tragedies thru myfitne

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated because I can hire, train and mentor teens and future entrepreneurs how to work hard, show up to work on time and ready to learn. Also, it’s a great reward to see the clients that walk in the Juice Bar and Gym with a yearn to get off medication and lose the weight they want to boost their morale and self confidence doing it. Thirdly, I get super excited as the President of the cosmetology board seeing single mom women walk across the stage after completing Beauty school.

What would you do with the $25,000?

This grant will afford me to advance the line of credit to hire 4 employees for all departments, purchase well needed fitness equipment for the 300 plus pound women that I train to loose weight, comply with new ADA law requirements with all of my businesses bathrooms . The juice bar is now a weekly meal prep hub for our weight loss clients and the public. We need 3 large grab and go refrigerators for self checkout.
