Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

The women in my family who raised me inspired me. As a child my mom would make dinner plates that my dad would take to work to sell for her. My aunts ALWAYS were starting some type of business. My Nana was my biggest inspiration when I started my business, she saw the potential of my talent before I even knew I had a talent. She was my very first investor so when she passed I felt like I had to see her investment through, so a few months after her passing I started my first crochet business.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by thinking about the conversations I had with both my Nana and Tt Lana when they were still alive, they were always my biggest supporters with anything that I would do. So in hard times when I really need all the extra motivation I can possibly get I think about all the unconditional love and support they offered me and how much they would want me to see our goals through.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest it into my business on things such as materials, inventory, marketing, etc. I’d also invest it into getting some help in areas the business could improve in for the longevity of the company. As a handmade small business owner it can be challenging being the only one making the products, packaging orders, adding inventory to the website, etc. So I would definitely use the money to overall set the business up for success in the long run!
