Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration for Mattoon Soap Co. came from necessity. After relocating to Litchfield, CT, I developed a severe skin condition with unexplained hives, blisters, and swelling. Traditional medicine couldn't provide answers, so I turned to natural remedies. Goat milk was a game-changer-soothing my skin, preventing hives, and reducing scars. This discovery sparked my passion to create skincare that heals and empowers, inspiring the foundation of Mattoon Soap Co.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated because I love what I do-creating and helping others. My day starts at 5:30 AM with a workout before heading to the lab to handcraft products. Hearing customer say, "Your products solved my skincare issues" or Your diffusers are unmatched" fuels my passion. Being called "the real deal" inspires me to keep growing Mattoon Soap Co., giving back, healing skin, and uplifting spirits one handcrafted product at a time.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded the $25,000 grand prize, I would invest in expanding Mattoon Soap Co. by opening two additional retail locations, redesigning packaging, and amplifying marketing efforts. This would position the brand to secure wholesale contracts with boutiques hotels, providing miniature toiletries to elevate their guest experience . These initiatives would drive growth and solidify Mattoon Soap Co. as a leader in handcrafted, high quality skincare and home fragrance products.
