Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration in business I think came from my mom. Growing up in Jamaica she used to be a seamstress, but she no longer does that as much. She started the whole entrepreneurial journey in our family but I don’t think she understood how to make it work, no real guidance. My inspiration was to pick up that mantle and become a successful business owner so that I can show her it’s not too late to become successful doing what she loves also. How do you stay motivated?

My children/Family are my motivation. I want to be great for them. I want them to be proud of me when they speak about me or my businesses but most importantly, I want something that my parents wasn’t fortunate enough to do for us. That is to leave behind businesses that they can inherit. To make sure that they don’t have to start from the bottom, to give them a fighting chance after they are finished with school. A chance I never got for myself.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With my $25,000, I would invest further into my businesses. I would like to relaunch my makeup line, making it bigger & better than before. I would also like to start my salon suite, making it affordable for people like me that need a place to do what they love. This money would give me a chance to start both.
