Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My mother’s journey from a small fundraiser to owning a Jamaican restaurant showed me the power of resilience. But my drive runs deeper. Moving from Jamaica to the U.S., I saw how hard immigrants work to send money home and the barriers they face. I learned about group economics and brain drain firsthand. Bly isn’t just an app, it’s a tool for every dollar to strengthen communities. My mother taught me to turn obstacles into opportunities.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by making self-care, wellness, and faith non-negotiables. Moving my body, reflecting, and leaning into my faith keep me grounded when things feel overwhelming. I’ve learned that to pour into my work, I have to pour into myself first. It’s not about perfection but about staying aligned with my vision. These daily practices help me navigate challenges with clarity and purpose, ensuring I show up fully for both myself and my business.

What would you do with the $25,000?

As a bootstrapped startup, most of our journey has been self-funded, common for women-led ventures. With $25,000, we’d invest in software for security and usability, cover legal fees for licensing and partnerships, and build credibility in the FinTech space. We’d also outsource UX design and marketing to enhance the product and raise awareness. This funding would accelerate our launch, ensuring Bly becomes a secure, user-friendly solution the Caribbean diaspora can trust.
