Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

NVLX Labs was inspired by the lack of clean, water-soluble products for the loc’d community. As a trained loctician and trichology analyst, I saw firsthand the struggles clients face: dryness, scalp irritation, hair unraveling and limited options that catered to their unique needs. I wanted to create a brand that solves these problems while helping individuals embrace their natural beauty with confidence; especially in a world where many still face hair-based bias at school and work.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by envisioning NVLX Labs as the premier eco-luxe brand for loc’d hair, setting a new standard for sustainability and quality. Watching more people transition to locs and embrace their authentic selves inspires me to continue creating nature-powered products that meet their niche needs. We are proud to support their journeys while contributing to impactful initiatives like One Tree Planted and Perinatal Health Equity, ensuring our mission extends beyond haircare.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25K, I would allocate $15K to produce my Loc In Moisture Conditioner, completing the core product suite for NVLX Labs. I’d use $5K for advertising on Amazon and IG to increase brand visibility, $1,500 for SEO and CRO optimization to enhance website traffic and conversions, and $3,500 for supplies like boxes, printing materials and product bottles. This funding would allow us to scale production, expand reach, and strengthen NVLX Labs as the premier clean-chemistry brand for locs.
