Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I have grown up being inspired by Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and Jessica Alba. These are all determined, exceptional business women who stay true to themselves and are uniquely smart. In media, I have always looked up to Elle Woods, Hermione Granger, and Blair Waldorf. They catch my eye because they stand their ground and go after their goals, having high standards for themselves and others. It’s always good to inspire yourself, too.

How do you stay motivated?

I am lucky to be naturally energetic and a creative, project-based person. I grew up with a passion for nonprofit work. I just graduated from NYU. Being a D1 rowing recruit, having social media experience, and roots as an artist prepared me well to be the founder of Petal. I love sending and recieving flowers and am motivated to evolve the industry, exploring its true potential. A genuine love for florists and sending flowers drives me to bring Petal to life. Every positive step is exciting.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I am starting to have my first costs, so this competition comes at a good time. I do everything for Petal except for the app/b2b engineering. I have lawyer fees and wireframing costs. I need to cover flights, a ticket, and room for a florist convention. I need my first office in Venice Beach, CA. The $25,000 will be essential for covering these costs and maximizing advertisement before launch on Mother’s Day.
