Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration comes from my godmother, Lala, who taught me to make wire-wrapped jewelry when I was 8. After (many!) years of not knowing my career path, I rediscovered jewelry in college, creating my first piece in two days. The support from family and friends turned my hobby into a full-time business. Growing up in a small beach town, I draw inspiration from the ocean, sunsets, and coastal beauty to create pieces that represent my heart and passion.

How do you stay motivated?

My motivation comes from the joy I feel while creating jewelry—it's a feeling of calm, peace, and fulfillment. The act of making each piece drives me, knowing it’s part of something bigger. What keeps me going is seeing my creations travel the world, becoming a part of someone’s special day. Whether it's a customer smiling at a market, or a stranger turned friend, I stay motivated by the deep connection my work brings to others’ lives.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’d invest the $25k directly into growing East Coast Jewels. First, I’d develop a financial plan for steady growth and allocate funds for marketing to expand our reach. I’d also invest in high-quality materials and equipment, such as an engraving machine and laser cutter, to enhance craftsmanship. A dream goal is to create a mobile jewelry boutique and host events across major cities, bringing ECJ to new audiences while growing as a brand!
