The families I serve are my greatest inspiration. It’s an honor that parents trust me with the care and education of their children and I’m moved to create a warm, welcoming environment for all the kids in our community.
How do you stay motivated?The kids are truly the “Spark” that keeps me going. Having the freedom to create my own lesson plans means that when my students show an interest in anything, from movie making to rocket science, I am able to lean into their curiosity, learn alongside them and lead their lessons with enthusiasm that matches their own.
What would you do with the $25,000?The $25,000 would go toward making some needed improvements to our space and would establish a fund to be able to hire kids from the program that are now ready to enter the workforce. Particularly those with certain additional needs who might benefit from a job skills internship in an environment where they are already comfortable and familiar.
