Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My father is my greatest inspiration. Without a degree, he raised two kids on a low income, mastering skills to provide for us. Although he never had his own business, he taught me to be strategic, persistent, and to create opportunities when none exist. These values led me to become a first-generation physician and the catalyst for starting Top MD LLC, an award-winning company tackling the healthcare shortage and improving patient care nationwide.

How do you stay motivated?

My motivation comes from God, my parents’ sacrifices, and my community’s support. I work not only to secure a comfortable life for myself but to uplift my family and community who uplifted me when I needed them. Seeing my younger cousins now pursue medical careers, helping graduate more medical doctors, and seeing my niece aspire to be a doctor and entrepreneur like me fuels my drive. I would use the $25,000 to expand Top MD LLC by creating affordable tutoring programs, synthesizing scholarships for young students, developing research opportunities for medical and nursing students, as well as investing in affordable housing options for students during away rotations in various states. This funding will help tackle the healthcare shortage, improve access to medical education, and advance innovative practices in U.S. healthcare to benefit students and patients alike.
