Who or what is your inspiration in business?

As a child, I was diagnosed with a form of Mitochondrial Disease and spent most of my childhood in hospitals. By fifteen, I was on an arsenal of prescription medications, regularly visiting the ER, with a poor quality of life. Offering no solutions or hope for a better life, my physicians thought my best option was to manage my symptoms with pharmaceuticals, not repairing the problem. I researched the functionality of the mitochondria and employed holistic medicine to restore my health.

How do you stay motivated?

Not only have I been able to restore my own health, but daily I work with individuals who have lost hope and faith in the medical system, assess the root cause(s) of their concerns, and employ targeted therapies to improve cellular functionality. Seeing their transformations keeps me motivated.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would like to start a non-profit that can help fund holistic therapies for these complicated chronic conditions. Individuals with multifaced conditions typically need intensive therapy to pull them out of their current state. Unfortunately, health insurance will not cover these therapies. Because medical debt is the leading cause of bankruptcy in the United States, I would like to create a non-profit to support these individuals, reducing their financial burden and stress.
