I am fueled by a conviction to make a meaningful difference. I draw inspiration from the stories and teachings of early pioneers e.g. Napoleon Hill, Madam CJ Walker, and Howard Schultz whose relentless spirit and unwavering determination remind me that anything is possible if I decide it is. Their journeys, filled with both obstacles and triumphs, stand as a testament to the power of perseverance and the boundless potential within each of us.

How do you stay motivated?

Owning UnBAR, a community café is more than just a business venture; it is a passion project rooted in the desire to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for people from all walks of life. Although the profit margins can be thin, the intrinsic rewards derived from providing a space where patrons can feel valued and accepted, contributing to their overall well-being. The joy of seeing regular customers form friendships, support one another, and celebrate milestones is powerful.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I recently added a nonprofit component to UnBAR Cafe Inc. to support those who currently don't have disposable income to enjoy the simple experiences of buying a cup of coffee while meeting and connecting with community. I would use the $25,000 to create programming inclusive of wellness, financial, and spiritual education to encourage personal development and community. These interactions will occur at my cafes allowing individuals to participate who otherwise would be excluded.
