Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration in business comes from my cofounder, Nejat, whose vision and dedication have been instrumental in shaping POL. Our shared passion for sustainability and creativity drives our work. Growing up in Kenya, where I was born and raised on farms, I’ve witnessed firsthand the deep connection between land, community, and nature. This experience fuels our mission to transform farm materials into innovative products, while honoring both the environment and our heritage.

How do you stay motivated?

constantly reminding myself of the impact we’re making—turning waste into valuable resources and contributing to sustainability. The support and shared vision with my cofounder, Nejat, keeps me energized. Drawing inspiration from my Kenyan roots, I’m deeply connected to the land and its potential. Seeing how our work helps both the environment and local communities pushes me to keep moving forward, even during challenging times.

What would you do with the $25,000?

launching our first product line, focusing on sustainable production and eco-friendly packaging. This would include sourcing high-quality, reusable farm materials and enhancing our collaboration with local African farmers. The funds would also support marketing efforts to introduce our brand to a wider audience, build awareness of our mission, and ensure our products stand out in the market. This launch would be a key step in scaling our impact and bringing our vision to life.
