Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I am a lawyer turned mediator turned start-up founder. I have been on the front lines of how painful going to court can be, and I want to change that! 98% of cases get resolved before ever being heard by a jury, so let's start with the negotiation instead of going down the costly path of litigation.

How do you stay motivated?

Knowing the impact that levelheaded will have on under-represented communities is one key thing that keeps me going. Of the eviction cases that happen in the United States 78% of residents show up to court unrepresented and are often being handed a judgment to leave their home. The cost of eviction on the tenant has ripple effects that will impact that person and their living situation is a very negative way. Mediation can change all of that and I know we can do it with levelheaded.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Building and marketing is how we'd use the $25,000. Mediation is not well known as an alternative to going to court. We need to help people see mediation as the right path to outcomes that support all people. We also are excited to use AI as a tool for access and scale for the business so some of this money will go to R&D for our AI model.
