Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My grandmother Rohini, a fierce advocate for children during colonized India, is the cornerstone of my inspiration. Her unwavering dedication to justice and education drives the mission of Rohi’s Readery. Founded in her honor, the Readery uplifts historically marginalized voices, fostering a community of liberation through storytelling, critical literacy, and inclusivity. Her legacy reminds me to champion equity, create safe spaces, and honor diverse narratives in all our work.

How do you stay motivated?

Motivation comes from witnessing the transformative power of storytelling and literacy in the communities we serve. Every child's spark of curiosity, every adult finding healing through our programs, fuels my passion. The resilience of historically marginalized communities, their shared stories, and the collective impact we create together inspire me daily to push boundaries and envision new possibilities for liberation and speaking your unapologetic truth.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The $25,000 would directly support the operations and upkeep of our newly acquired purchased property, ensuring its stability and longevity as a vital community hub. Funds would also enable us to hire a contracted graphic designer and social media professional, allowing me to focus and make more space in advancing the mission of both our for-profit and nonprofit initiatives. This investment builds capacity to amplify our impact and sustain programming without compromising our foundation.
