Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My business inspiration comes from both my parents. My mother, Hilda, was a pioneer and community advocate who fought for social justice issues, including ensuring children had summer work opportunities. Her dedication deeply inspired me. My father, a self-employed moving company owner, also shaped my entrepreneurial spirit. As a "daddy's girl," I admired his hard work and resilience, which instilled in me a passion for creating my path in business.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by dreaming big and pushing for what God has in store for me. These dreams fuel my goals and drive me to achieve more. As a published author, philanthropist, and music label owner, I’ve seen the power of hard work and faith. Now, I’m focused on building a nonprofit to support women and families affected by incarceration, continuing my journey to make a meaningful impact.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would kickstart programs by covering operational costs like providing stipends for daycare services to single parents, purchasing software for workforce development, career coaching, and mentoring, and buying professional clothing items to supplement donations. Additionally, I would establish a public transportation fund to help clients get to and from job interviews, ensuring they have the resources needed for successful workforce integration.
