Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My great-grandfather, Walter Stewart, and his daughter, my great-aunt Thelma Lee, always made us feel welcome. No matter the time of day, they invited my mother, brother, and me to their table. When we moved to Texas and returned to Nashville to visit, there was always food on the stove waiting for us. I want my customers to feel that same warmth and love when they eat my food.

How do you stay motivated?

Every morning, I pray for motivation and creativity. I remind myself, 'You’re working hard because this is yours.' Today, Ramesus, you’re building a legacy for generations to come.

What would you do with the $25,000?

First, I’d set aside a small amount for investment. Next, I’d secure a commercial kitchen and cover the necessary fees to get my sauces approved for retail sale. Finally, I’d host a charity dinner for the homeless, serving them a meal and gifting them Papa Stew’s Kitchen merchandise.
