Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration would be my younger self. 15 years ago I wouldn’t have imagined I would be where I am today. I’ve worked so hard trying to prove I can be better and made sure my focus was always on my goals. I’ve worked so hard on my talent. If I could say something to my younger self, I would say “Breathe, you’re doing great.”

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by doing continued education. I’m never too good to learn something new. In my line of business sometimes it’s easy to get comfortable. Sometimes being comfortable makes you stagnant. Keeping my knowledge up to date and loving what I do for a living keeps me motivated. Keeps me wanting more out of life.

What would you do with the $25,000?

As a single mom I am always trying to find ways to increase my income, yet still having time to spend with my baby. Being a hairstylist this is hard. I’m looking to invest in passive income. Hoping to upstart hair retail. The beauty industry is a billion dollar industry and all I need is funding. I’ve worked very hard for the last 10 years to build my brand (Beauty by Shawna) and it’s time to level up.
