Our goal is to make fun, functional aesthetically pleasing finger prosthetics at a tiny fraction of the cost of what big labs wanted to “try and come up with something” considering my level of amputation. How do you stay motivated?I’m a Readiness and Response Coordinator for our local Public Health Department, co-founder of FixADigit, and a psychological thriller author. There’s no time to slow down. All I need to stay motivated is to see the smiles on the faces of the people who identify with me. I have to believe that there was a purpose to the accident that caused my loss, otherwise, what did I battle it for? I’m a big believer in the theory that you light your own path on fire.
What would you do with the $25,000?Purchase more supplies, including another 3-D printer. I would like to get in touch with someone from Shriner’s or Children’s hospital to discuss either going into production for them, or giving them patent rights for their pediatric patients so they can make the prosthetics at no cost. We are changing the way things can be done.
