Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration for New Edition Urban Wear comes from my love for sustainability and the idea of giving old items new life. I’m inspired by people who embrace individuality and creativity. I also draw inspiration from my Nigerian roots, where resourcefulness and upcycling are ingrained in the culture. Seeing others value sustainable fashion motivates me to create pieces that tell a story while reducing waste.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by focusing on my vision and the impact I want to create. I remind myself of my “why”—the goals I’ve set, the people I aim to inspire, and the legacy I want to leave. Challenges become lessons, and every step forward fuels my passion. I surround myself with like-minded individuals, celebrate small wins, and embrace personal growth. Knowing that my efforts contribute to something bigger than myself keeps me driven and committed to achieving success.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would scale my business by investing in key areas: enhancing production capabilities, expanding marketing efforts to reach a wider audience, and sourcing sustainable materials to align with my brand’s commitment to ethical fashion. I would also allocate funds toward building a stronger online presence and collaborating with local artisans, creating jobs while amplifying my brand’s impact. This would accelerate growth and bring my vision of innovative, sustainable fashion to life.
