Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My brand, named after my grandmother Barbara Perry, honors her legacy of excellence and elegance within the Detroit community. Her stories and profound impact inspire my connection to my family and community. Through my artistry, I strive to embody her spirit, hoping to live a life that reflects even a fraction of her grace. If I can represent her legacy through my work, I will have fulfilled my true purpose.

How do you stay motivated?

In 2015, I underwent a spinal fusion surgery that completely derailed my goals of becoming a professional dancer. Through that path change, I found a way to remain creative without hindering my recovery. I found my light again; I dedicate my artistry to those I serve, my clients who understand the importance of personalization, and playing a vital role in the design process for their forever pieces. I’m motivated by every style and aesthetic that can be adorned by Trinity Barbara.

What would you do with the $25,000?

After graduating from the University of Michigan, my primary goal has been to bring Trinity Barbara [the brand] back home to where it all began. $25,000 would go a long way in helping our team open our first retail location in Detroit. Our city has recently been revitalized in a way I couldn’t have imagined growing up here. To be able to do what we do best and connect with customers on a weekly basis, would provide Trinity Barbara the prime opportunity to share our vision with the world.
