Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration in business is, The Foundation for Art & Healing. Their model for healing is very similar to my vision. Their business designs art-based workshops and uses creative expression to connect communities and improve well-being. They acknowledge the unseen struggle people face daily and actively work to offer safe, fun and creative spaces for growth, understanding, fulfillment and healing.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by remembering that my purpose is greater than my circumstances. As a single mother, widow, and survivor of domestic violence, I've learned that perseverance is not a choice. It is a necessity and responsibility. Every challenge I overcome strengthens my resolve to create stability, healing and hope not only for myself but for my child. My motivation comes from faith, resilience and the determination to build a future rooted in strength, purpose and possibility.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I will use the $25,000 to create impactful events to build a bridge for mental healing to take place. I will rent a building to provide a safe space for honest conversations, education, resources and community events to take place. I will schedule events for children and adults that include storytelling, art, music and hands on activities. There will be workshops, and resources for victims of abuse and domestic violence. Learning will be ongoing through professional presenters and partnerships.
