Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I am inspired by the quiet strength of parents, caregivers, and business owners who work tirelessly to create stability for their families. Inspired by my mother, Margaret, who raised nine children as a widowed parent, I learned that preparation is not a luxury, but a necessity. That belief became the foundation of Legacy Shield, an advisory agency helping families, retirees, and business owners build long term security that shields and protects their legacy.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by focusing on the purpose behind my work. Every solution, strategy, or consultation represents a family protecting their future, or a business owner reducing risks. Knowing that proactive planning can prevent financial hardship later keeps me committed to growing Legacy Shield into a resource that empowers individuals, families, and organizations to plan with confidence during important life or business strategy transitions.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the grant to transition Legacy Shield from early growth into scalable impact. Funding would support technology infrastructure, marketing expansion, and educational outreach initiatives focused on retirement readiness, long-term care planning, and risk management. These investments would allow me to reach more families and businesses, while expanding partnerships, and promote a sustainable advisory practice designed to grow and create jobs.
