Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration is the intersection of my past and my community’s future. Moving 30 times as a child taught me that connection is a basic human need. I am inspired by the grit it took to graduate independently and the 10 years of 'hustle' required to grow my business through a global pandemic. I don't look to icons; I look to the entrepreneurs and neighbors I serve. My mission is to ensure everyone feels included and empowered to succeed through the experiences I create.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by looking at how far I’ve come. After 10 years in business and successfully mastering the digital pivot during the pandemic, I’ve proven that resilience is my greatest asset. I am driven by the tangible results of my work, specifically raising over $250k for charity. Knowing that my "engineering eye" and community heart create lasting economic and social impact for Atlantic Canada keeps me focused on the next decade of growth.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I will invest the $25,000 to scale Amber Effect Events from a founder-led business to a sustainable agency. First, I’ll hire a dedicated Event Coordinator to increase our capacity for large-scale Atlantic Canada contracts. Second, I’ll formalize our digital marketing to better compete for corporate and government RFPs. Finally, I’ll invest in advanced event tech to enhance our sustainability reporting - ensuring every event we lead remains a force for good.
