Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration comes from Madam C. J. Walker. Her story reminds me that greatness often begins in struggle like mine did. Every setback and closed door I faced in this industry pushed me to keep creating. I’m inspired by my trials that molded me and by the women who prove that resilience can turn into impact.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by thinking of the women before me and after me that started from ground zero. Women like Madam C. J. Walker proved that a vision, a pair of hands, and determination can build an empire from the ground up. I see myself in that spirit. I didn’t just enter the beauty industry, I studied it, evolved with it, innovated in it, and became the original patent holder of the lace closure because I believed hair deserved better solutions. Every client is apart of that Legacy.

What would you do with the $25,000?

My vision is to create beauty workshops for aspiring stylists, passing down the knowledge that led me to create the lace closure. I want to continue inventing lace systems for people experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions, genetics, or other circumstances. Most importantly, I want to build a space where women can learn, grow, and realize that entrepreneurship in beauty can transform not only their income, but their entire future.
