Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration for Columbus Archery was to bring accessible archery wellness to Ohio. Giving the community tools that allow participants to take healing into their own hands by offering archery, we are providing a skill that centers healing, concentration, and being in tune with oneself. Watching the kids hit the targets over and over, seeing their confidence grow with each shot. That is my inspiration is to bring community care tools.

How do you stay motivated?

Staying motivated for Columbus Archery has been an up-and-down roller coaster. There are obstacles that I never thought I would face but going through it all my mentors that continue to show up for me has helped me create a grounding point in the business when I need to reset and look at the overall picture of the business. As a Black Queer woman in red state you can feel all eyes on you when you are trying to create something for the community.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If Columbus Archery wins the $25,000 the money would go towards Archery equipment for our youth camps and safety gear. We would be able to implement our Youth Archery camps in two more locations of Park and Recreation centers in Columbus. This award would not only help us launch a critical part of our business but it will help us have all the safety items necessary to continue to operate.
