Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

Jeromie Jones, owner of Sprinkles by Kake King, is one of my biggest inspirations. His journey reflects nothing short of purpose. He has experienced seasons of owning a brick-and-mortar, closing it, baking from home, creating a baking book and product line, and rebuilding again. What inspires me most is his humbleness, heart for giving back and supporting other entrepreneurs. His humility and dedication to uplifting his community remind me that business can be both successful and impactful.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated because my business represents hope to the community I serve. I feel like it's bigger that desserts. One thing I have noticed, in and out of these seasons, the need for desserts has not changed! What my business will always be a part of is celebrations, joy and connection! There's never a birthday party, office celebration or huge event without dessert! I know what I bring, product wise is amazing, but my customer service and desire to help others in my community matters most!

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received $25,000, I would invest in equipment to increase production, a mobile dessert cart and vending setup, marketing and website upgrades, and bulk ingredients and packaging. I currently operate as cottage food and rent a space for $350/month plus 5% of sales to restaurant. My goal is to grow online orders, wholesale, and vending opportunities while working toward my own location and to provide two $500 scholarships for interns every year for interns that work with me for a semester!
