I want to elevate underserved voices and bring new perspectives to new audiences while making sure filmmakers can build sustainable careers. Creatives need allies to make their best work, and I’m happy to be that support. I also think most major movies have become stale, and audiences deserve better.
How do you stay motivated?I look at the state of disruption within the industry, and how so many filmmakers are exploited by bad faith distributors. I think if the stories that need to be told and how I have an unusual position to help get them out into the world.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would expand the conventions I attend to meet more cinephiles, and partially finance a film from a previous filmmaker.
